Leo Messi is a total footballer. An all-rounder. He may have Telmo Zarra’s legendary goalscoring record in his sights, but he has also set up 100 goals for other players throughout his Liga career.

He supplied his first assist on 19 November 2005 against Real Madrid, and in the nine years that followed he has now provided goal assists against a massive 29 different Liga teams, with Real Madrid, Levante and Valencia being his main victims, with seven assists each, followed by Getafe (6), Osasuna, Malaga, Almeria, Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano (all 5).

Pedro on receiving end

The player that has scored the most goals off passes from Messi is Pedro, who has converted 14 of the Argentinian’s 100 assists. He is followed by Samuel Eto’o (13 goals) and David Villa (10). Of the members of the current squad, and aside from Pedro, the beneficiaries have been Iniesta (4 goals), Neymar (4), Alves (2), Adriano (1), Sandro (1) and Rakitic (1).

Forty of Messi’s ton of assists occurred at the Camp Nou and the other sixty on the road, with the Santiago Bernabéu bearing witness to the highest number, an impressive five.
