Andrés Iniesta left on Monday afternoon for Monaco, where he is due to appear at this evening’s gala presentation of the Golden Foot award. The Barça midfielder is one of ten candidates, along with Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Manuel Neuer, Andrea Pirlo, Thiago Silva, Franck Ribéry, former FCB players Touré Yaya and Thierry Henry, and lady footballer Marta Vieira Da Silva.
Iniesta has been joined on the trip by FC Barcelona’s director of football, Andoni Zubizarreta, his wife, Anna Ortiz, his agent, Ramon Sostres, and Joel Borràs of Mediabase Sports.
The player will be back in time for training on Tuesday along with the other players that have played Slovakia and Luxembourg this week in Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifiers, namely Gerard Piqué, Marc Bartra, Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets i Pedro Rodríguez.
