Xavi Hernández has high expectations for the Catalan Super Cup match next Wednesday 29 at the Montilivi Stadium in Girona between Barça and Espanyol (9.30 PM CET). “It’ll be a derby and a final and those are the kind of games you always want to play and win” he said. “It’ll be a fine show, with plenty of fair play as we all enjoy this celebration of Catalan football”.
Asked how competitively his team will take the game, Xavi insisted that “whoever plays will be well motivated. We represent Catalan football and we are the two biggest exponents of the game in this country”.
Former Barça man and now Espanyol captain, Sergio García, also spoke at the official presentation of the competition. “For us it’s an important game because Barça are our biggest rivals” he said. “This is a derby so we’ll be taking everything we’ve got and preparing as hard as possible to win the Super Cup”.
