Plenty of events before the record

Various supporters club events before Barça v Sevilla

Apart from the reception at the City Hall, there was plenty more going on on occasion of the game between Barça and Sevilla. The presentation of a poster, one reception and the unveiling of four crests formed the build-up to a historic game.

Les Terres de l’Ebre present Meeting

It all began with the presentation of the XIX Terres de l’Ebre Barça Supporters Clubs Meeting, to be held in Camarles this weekend to coincide with the local club’s 25th anniversary. The president of the zone’s Federation, Ramon Fibla, and the president of the club, Marino Navarro, were welcomed by director Pau Vilanova and ex player Paco Clos.

Reception for Gent Blaugrana d’Anfa

The Espai Social was then the venue for a special reception for the Gent Blaugrana d’Anfa, from Casablanca. This was the first time that most of the 20 Moroccan guests had visited the Camp Nou, led by their president Youssef Bennani, was was welcomed by director Pau Vilanova, the supporters clubs trustee Ramón Térmens, and the patron of the FC Barcelona Foundation, Mohammed Chaib.

Four plaques

Four supporters clubs unveiled their plaques at the Camp Nou. The first was the Peña Blaugrana Flumen-Monegros, from Lalueza, Huesca. Xavier Ilincheta, director of the Supporters Clubs Commission and the club president, Carlos Arango, did the duties at gate 95.

Gate 95 was also where the Penya Barcelonista Ferreries did likewise, with Xavier Ilincheta and president Antoni Gonyalons doing the honours.

At gate 30, the Peña Barcelonista El Asturcon inaugurated their crest with Xavier Ilincheta and José Manuel Álvarez, president of the club, pulling back the curtain to reveal the crest of the Asturian organisation.

The day ended with the Penya Blaugrana EuroBarça from Lloret de Mar at gate 32. This time Ilincheta was joined by the president of the club Lluis Crespo, on a day that would ened with everyone enjoying the landmark occasion of Messi breaking Zarra’s all-time Liga goalscoring record.
