After a big win against Atlético Madrid, nine of the Barça ladies team have been called up by Spain manager Ignacio Quereda for four days of training and a friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday.
Jennifer Hermoso, who was injured the last time the Spanish team met, has returned to the group and replaces club team-mate Willy Romero. The full list of Barça players in the squad is as follows: Marta Corredera, Virginia Torrecilla, Marta Torrejón, Ruth García, Jennifer Hermoso, Alexia Putellas, Melanie Serrano, Vicky Losada and Sonia Bermúdez.
The first session started on Monday at 6.30 PM CET in the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas. They’ll train two more times on Tuesday before playing a friendly against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday at 7.00 PM CET and returning the day after in time for a club training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Barça’s next game is on Saturday at 4.00 PM CET against Transportes Alcaine.
Jorge Vilda, the Spain U19 manager, made his list for a similar programme next week. Six Barça girls (Nuria Garrote, Pilar Garrote, Andrea Sánchez, Queralt Gómez, Sandra Hernández and Mariona Caldentey) will be at the Ciudad del Fútbol de Las Rozas from November 24 to 16.
