Leo Messi was the star of the 5-1 win over Sevilla thanks to a hat-trick that beat Telmo Zarra’s all-time Liga goalscoring record. The goals also mean that the Andalusians are now his number one victim, along with Real Madrid. Here are some other interesting stats to have emerged from a memorable night at the Camp Nou.

• Messi has scored 21 goals against Sevilla. 18 of those came in the league, more than he has scored against any other team in the competition, and three in the Spanish Super Cup.

• He has also scored 21 goals against Real Madrid, divided between La Liga (14), the Spanish Super Cup (5) and the Champions League (2). He’s scored 20 against Atlético Madrid.

• His last hat-trick came on March 23 in the clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu (3-4).

• Leo Messi has scored 27 hat-tricks for the first team. On four of those occasions he added another, and he once got five against Bayer Leverkusen,.
