Luis Enrique and the man in charge of Espanyol, Sergio González, met this morning at pitch number 1 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. It is a local tradition for the respective managers to do this the day before league derbies, and to appear before the media in a photo session. The two clubs face each other at the Camp Nou on Sunday afternoon at 5.00 PM CET.
The two coaches know each other well, and as players actually coincided on seven occasions for city derbies, in which four of the games ended in draws and Barça won the other three. Neither is this the first time that Luis Enrique and Sergio have managed their respective teams in a derby for they already met in the Catalan Super Cup match in Girona earlier this season, a game in which Barça ended up collecting the trophy.
