By the numbers: FC Barcelona's big win over PSG

A milestone of 150 all-time wins and a record 75 Messi goals in the Champions League Plus, this is the eighth consecutive season the team finish first in their group

FC Barcelona have created quite a stir all across Europe after beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 at Camp Nou on Wednesday night to vault to first place in Group F and a trip to the round of sixteen where they will take on a yet to be disclosed opponent.

Last night's match, by the numbers:

150 victories in the top European Competition sits Barça third on the all-time win list behind Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Their very first win in the European Cup came on 23 September, 1959 in a 6-2 win over CDNA of Sofia.

75 goals for Messi in the Champions League: The Argentinian just keeps going, extending his own record even higher against PSG. He got to 74 goals with a hat trick against Apoel in Nicosia. How many more will he get?

Barça have won their group for the 8th consecutive year, dating back to 2006/07 when they lost out to Chelsea. This year's 15 group stage points is their second best showing in that span — they got 16 in 2011/12.

Neymar was the man of the match. His long-range strike that gave Barça a 2-1 lead was the match's turning point.

Neymar's spectacular goal from outside the area against PSG has a precedent: He scored a carbon copy in last season's 6-1 win over Rayo Vallecano at home.

Of Neymar's 29 goals with FC Barcelona, he has scored 13 game-winners.

The 82,570 spectators at Camp Nou last night was tops on the season, confirming the match's vast media coverage.

Mascherano is on the cusp of 200 games played with Barça. Against PSG, he played in his 199th.

Against PSG, Barça players received exactly zero yellow cards, which hadn't happened since their first UCL match this season against APOEL, also at Camp Nou, which Barça won 1-0.

Last night's final score of 3-1 over PSG is the same result Barça had at Camp Nou against Ajax. Messi and Neymar also scored in that win. The third goal, though, was courtesy of Sandro.
