Barça and Atlético de Madrid have crossed paths 22 times in the Spanish Cup. Barça have emerged victorious 12 times, while Atlético have done so 10 times.
Of those 12 times that Barça eliminated Atlético, the blaugrana went on the win the Cup nine times.
The two have faced each other twice in the Cup final, with Barça winning 3-2 in 1926 and Atlético taking the title in 1996.
Barça and Atlético de Madrid have crossed paths four times in the quarter-finals, with Atlético winning three and Barça winning two.
The all-time leading goalscorer in Barça v Atlético cup ties is Ladislao Kubala. He scored 9 goals in the three times they played between 1951 and 1957. More recently, Pizzi, Ronaldo and Messi have scored three cup goals versus Atlético. In between, in the 1980s, Julio Salinas scored five.
In the return leg of the last 16 in 1956/57, Eulogio Martínez scored seven goals. That year, Barça knocked out Atlético by an aggregate score 13–3, including a 2–5 in the first leg and an 8–1 in the return leg.
In the 22 times Barça and Atlético have collided, the culers have outscored scored Atlético 86–65.
In their last cup meeting, Barça eliminated Atlético with a Messi hat trick in the first leg at the Vicente Calderón (1-3) and with goals from Bojan and Gudjohnsen in the return leg at Camp Nou (2-1).
