Juan Carlos Navarro and Brad Oleson reappeared in a game decided near the end

FC Barcelona beat Iberostar Tenerife 87–78 putting their last defeat to Real Madrid in the Euroleague squarely behind them. The Catalans were led by Bostjan Nachbar in the win over a Tenerife squad without one of its leading figures, Blagota Sekulic.

Decided late

In the opening minutes Xavi Pascual's team didn't look like they had fully recovered from the Madrid loss, missing shots and playing from behind. But thanks to Satoransky and Nachbar, they slowly recovered the initiative and led 42–33 at the half. Juan Carlos Navarro, back from injury, also helped out.

Barça were even more aggressive after the break at both ends of the floor. Satoransky was busy throwing down dunks on offense while the defense stepped up. Nevertheless, Tenerfie managed a 10–2 run late in the third quarter that forced Pascual to take a timeout.

Although the Catalans were up 62–51 at the start of the fourth quarter, Tenerife didn't let it slip away until late thanks to their three-point shooting and the leadership Lamprapoulos, who led them with 23 points.

Tenerife's pressed and Barça couldn't stretch the lead beyond 10 points, but Brad Oleson, also back from injury, came on strong late to seal the victory.
