It was a raucous evening at the Palau Blaugrana as FC Barcelona beat KIF Kolding in perhaps the most important game of the season so far. Xavi Pascual's men came up big in winning by six goals over the side from Copenhagen, ensuring them the top spot in Group B of the Champions League. By winning the group, they are assured a home return leg match in the last 16 and possibly the quarter-finals.

Barça scored first and ran out to a 19–11 lead at half-time. Kolding fought hard to make a comeback, but every time they scored, Barça would answer right back. The Danes did manage to get to within 29–23 with nine minutes left, but Karabatic and Sorhaindo were clutch down the stretch to help Barça hold off a charging Kolding.
