Women's team take big step towards league title (8-0)

Xavi Llorens' side gave Sevilla no chance and could take the title in Oviedo next weekend

After seeing off Sevilla 8-0 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper this Sunday, Xavi Llorens’ side  need just a draw next week away to Oviedo to lift the league title A goal after just three minutes from Sonia Bermudez opened the floodgates against Sevilla and she needed just half an hour to claim her hat trick. Between times, Marta Corredera and Jennifer Hermosa, twice, had also put the ball into the net and with the score at 5-0 on 31 minutes, it was clear that Barça were on route to another comfortable win.

No let-up in the second half

It was more of the same after the break, as Barça continued to dominate and create chances. Correderra put a way a good cross from Jennifer to make it six and the goal of the game came from Mariona Caldentey, with a spectacular volley. Sonia popped up again to make it eight and set up some possible celebrations next week!
