FC Barcelona draw Kielce in VELUX EHF Champions League semis

The Final Four in Cologne starts on May 30, with Kiel and Veszprém appearing in the other game

The Barça handball team know who they’ll meet in the semi-finals of the Champions League on May 30. It’s Polish outfit Kielce, who knocked out Vardar of Macedonia, while THW Kiel of Germany and Veszprém of Hungary will be the other sides battling for a place in the final the following day.

Familiar foes

Kielce are into the F4 for the second time under Talant Duixebàev, who formerly coached Ciudad Real and Atlético Madrid In Spain. Barça beat Kielce at the same stage of the competition in 2012/13, winning 28-23 against a side coached at the time by former FCB man Bodgan Wenta.

With Julen Aguinagalde of the Basque Country in their squad, along with the likes of Bielicki, Cupic, Zorman and Szmal, the Poles are very real candidates to lift the continental crown.
