This will be the new Miniestadi

During the presentation of the new Espai Barça stadium project at the Auditori 1899 on Sunday, the winning bid for the new Miniestadi was revealed for the first time when president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the director responsible for Patrimony, Jordi Moix, unveiled the scale model of the new project.

The Batlle i Roig Arquitectes is the winning bidder for a stadium that will be built at the Ciutat Esportiva for a cost of €12 million (€9 for the stadium and €2 million for the car park and urban infrastructures).

Batlle i Roig Arquitectes who were also involved in the design of the Ciutat Esportiva itself have designed a Miniestadi that fitted all requirements of the tender. It will hold 6,000 spectators, and will be adapted to UEFA category III, with covered terraces, parking for 600 vehicles and a completely independent operations structure to the Ciutat Esportiva. Work is expected to begin in January 2016 and it should be ready for inauguration in June 2017.
