Four FC Barcelona players help Spain beat Costa Rica, 2-1

Marc Bartra and Aleix Vidal start, Busquets and Piqué come on in second half

Spain beat Costa Rica 2-1 on Thursday night in León in the first of two friendlies for the Spanish national team before the summer holiday. Coach Vicente del Bosque started the FC Barcelona players Marc Bartra and Aleix Vidal, while fellow blaugrana teammates Gerard Piqué and Sergio Busquets got their opportunity in the second half. Spain overcame an initial 5th minute goal from Costa Rica's Johan Venegas by scoring two goals before the break. Valencia's Paco Alcácer and former Barça player Cesc Fabregas scored for Spain.

Debut Aleix Vidal

FC Barcelona's new signing Aleix Vidal made his national team debut cracked Vicente del Bosque's starting lineup. The ex-sevilla player started on the right wing and participated in the winning goal that was the product of two former blaugrana players. Vidal centered from the right, Nolito's shot was deflected, and Cesc Fabregas cleaned up by sending the ball into the back of the net to complete the first half comeback.

However, it was not all good news for Aleix Vidal, who had to leave the pitch due after spraining his ankle during a jump ball with Costa Rica's Giancarlo González.
