Barça B 3–0 Ontinyent CF: A feel-good win

Barça take all three points to stay in the upper echelon of the league standings

Barça B looked strong in a 3-0 win over Ontinyent at the Miniestadi on Saturday which keeps their playoff chances alive and well. Riqui Puig returned to the field — which did not go unnoticed— and Miranda was the player of the game with a goal and two assists. Àlex Collado and McGuane chipped in with one goal each. Barça goalkeeper Iñaki Peña was superb, stopping a penalty kick when Barça were leading 2-0.

McGuane opened the scoring, assisted by Miranda after a great combination with Puig in the 9th minute. Miranda then assisted Collado to double the blaugrana lead just two minutes later.

While Barça continued dominating, however, Ontinyent saw the door creak open when they were awarded a penalty kick. But Peña was up to the task, keeping Barça’s two-goal lead intact.

In the 23rd, Miranda decided that two assists were not enough, and found the net himself, giving Barça a 3-0 lead they would not relinquish.

The remainder of the first half was back and forth but neither side could capitalize. Barça dominated possession in the second half to wrap up the victory.

Next Sunday, Barça B visit second-place Villarreal B.
