FC Barcelona Lassa leave for the Super Globe

On Saturday morning, the handball team head for Qatar to play for the world club title

The FC Barcelona Lassa handball team left El Prat at 10.30am CET on Saturday on a flight to the Qatari capital of Doha, where they are looking to win the Super Globe, and in doing so be crowned world club champions for the third time in a row.

The plane is due to land at 5.45 local time (one hour later than CET), and from the airport, the players will be taken directly to their hotel.

Ready for the challenge

On Sunday they’ll be acclimatising with a morning training session ahead of Monday’s quarter final against Egypt’s Al-Ahly, which starts at 4.00pm CET. If they win that, they’ll meet either host club Al Sadd or Sydney University of Australia in the semi-finals the day after.

The four clubs on the other side of the bracket are MKB Veszprém of Hungary, HC Taubaté of Brazil, Füchse Berlin of Germany and Club Africain of Tunisia.
