The 14 players who were away with their national teams return to the squad after earning positive results with their respective countries
Luis Enrique is set to welcome back his players who were away on international duty ahead of FC Barcelona’s league match against Atlético Madrid on Saturday (8.30pm CET).
Those participating in the European qualifiers - Piqué, Bartra, Alba, Iniesta, Busquets, Rakitic, Arda Turan, Vermaelen and Ter Stegen – have already come back after positive results in their respective matches. Only Rakitic’s Croatia came away without a win from their two Euro 2016 qualifying matches.
Across the Atlantic, Lionel Messi tasted victory with Argentina against Bolivia and earned a draw against Mexico as the Barcelona no.10 scored three times over the two matches. Neymar Jr and Rafinha won their two matches with Brazil against Costa Rica and the United States in which the Barça duo shone, as the latter scored his first ever international goal.
Meanwhile, Barça B youngster Fabrice Ondoa started for Cameroon in a hard-earned 1-0 win over Gambia.
