Speaking on Facebook, the Argentinian explains how keen he is to make a swift recovery and get back out on the pitch
Leo Messi has used social networks to communicate with his fans after suffering a serious injury against Las Palmas that is going to leave him side-lined for about two months. He posted a message on his Facebook account to say “thank you all for your supportive messages. For anyone who loves football, the hardest thing is not to be on the pitch. Now it’s time to recover properly to come back. A big hug.”
Following the bad news of the injury to the Argentinian, FC Barcelona immediately set up an #ÁnimoLeo campaign on social networks that supporters could use to send messages of encouragement to the star. The hashtag has been one of the most repeated over the last few days, and had been shared by hundreds of thousands of users.
