The FC Barcelona Lassa futsal team are now in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey after overcoming Navarran side Magna Gurpea in the Palau Blaugrana. After a solid first half performance, Marc Carmona’s team finished the game off in the last few minutes of the second thanks to goals from Sergio Lozano, Ferrao, Aicardo and Wilde.
Barça meant business from the beginning, Bateria hitting the post after just a minute. Magna’s reprieve did not last long when Sergio Lozano volleyed the home side into the lead with just two minutes gone. Carmona’s side dominated but gradually in the first half Magna Gurpea worked themselves back into the contest. The visitors struck the crossbar only for Barça then to double their advantage with a goal Ferrao after an assist from Bateria. The sides went in at the break with the blaugranes leading 2-0.
In the second half the pace of the game dropped and Barça were guilty of spurning several good chances. Paco Sedano in goal for the home side made several important stops before Magna finally pulled one back, Saldise scoring at the far post. Nevertheless, the blaugranes closed out the win with goals from Aicardo and Wilde to make the final score 4-1 and now they await the draw to discover who will be their rivals in the quarter finals.
