Not long to go now for FC Barcelona to begin their journey to Japan where they will try to claim their third FIFA World Club Cup, their second in the last four years, in order to round off an unforgettable 2015.
The trip will begin on Sunday 13 December at 10.00am CET and after a 12 hour flight, the blaugrana expedition will land in Tokyo on Monday at 7.20am CET and the same day Luis Enrique’s squad will train for the first time in the Far East in an open session at the Mitsuwaha Stadium in Yokohama.
It will be the first of five sessions in Japan. The team will train again on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The semi-final between Barça and the winner of the game between Club América and Guangzhou Evergrande will be played on Thursday at 7.30pm local time and should the Catalans reach the final, then that will come on Sunday, also at 7.30pm local time. On the day before matches, Luis Enrique and one of the playing squad will appear in a press conference.
Not only does the first team have a busy agenda, on an institutional level there will also be plenty of activity. On Wednesday 16 December a visit is planned to the FCB Escola Katsushika at 4.30pm by various members of the Board of Directors and an event put on by the Catalan Tourist Board at the Yebisu Garden cinema at 5.30pm.
When those events are complete, there will be an event between the FC Barcelona Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tokyo at 6.30pm.
On Friday 18 December, after the semi-final has been played, the FIFA Official Gala Dinner will take place, also at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Tokyo, and which will be attended by various members of the Board of Directors. A day later there will be a reception for Japanese Supporters Club members at 12.00pm at the Hotel Hilton in Tokyo.
The Barça party will begin their return journey on Monday 21 December. The return flight will take off at 10.00am local time and will land back in Barcelona – the same day Monday 21 – at 1.00pm CET.
