FC Barcelona Lassa v Baloncesto Sevilla: Confidence-boosting win (108-54)

The Catalans put on a dazzling display in front of their own supporters with Satoransky and Vezenkov the standout players

FC Barcelona Lassa cruised to a comfortable win over Sevilla at Palau Blaugrana on Sunday, doubling their opponents’ point tally (108-54).

Barça burst out of the traps with points from Doellman and Tomic. Oleson then made two trebles to give his side a healthy early advantage of 27-12.

The Catalans began the second period in similar fashion; this time it was Pau Ribas who was successful with three big points. Carlos Arroyo was then handed an ovation by the home faithful on his return to the court from injury.

With 15 minutes played, Barça had a 44-22 lead and never showed any signs of letting up, as a treble from Perperoglou soon handed the team their half-century, and managed to go into the break 57-33 up.

Verenkov was in scintillating form throughout, and was pivotal to Barça’s rout, as too was Satoransky. The pair each earned 22 points and were the highest-rated players of the match.

Barça came close to sealing a new points difference record in the ACB but Sevilla’s late basket dented those hopes. Nevertheless, the home side earned a much-needed win which will also give them a confidence boost ahead of next week’s Copa del Rey quarter-final against Bilbao Basket.
