FCB Legends to play in Mexico on 1 April

The team of former FC Barcelona players will face a team of Mexican national team legends at the Estadio Corregidora in a game that could see the return of Carles Puyol to the pitch

The FCB Legends officially debut on 1 April in Mexico for a match versus legends of the Mexico national team at 7:30pm (local time) at the Estadio Corregidora.

Mexico has a large number of Barça fans, which is why Movistar, the Official Sponsor of FC Barcelona in Latin America, has organised the game in the country, which has burning passion for football.

The Catalan team will be coached by Jose Mari Bakero and will have former players like Carles Puyol, who could return to play for the first time since his retirement. Other former Barça players tabbed to participate include Éric Abidal, Ronald de Boer, Vitor Bahía and Juliano Belletti, among others. Mexico will be coached by Jorge Campos and will feature players such as Jared Borgetti, Ramón Ramírez, Francisco 'Kikín' Fonseca, Luis ‘Matador’ Hernández and Braulio Luna.

FCB Legends aims to highlight the figure of those players who have worn the FC Barcelona shirt and is a program developed between the Club and the FCB Players Association that aims to contribute to the globalisation of the Barça brand and the spread of its values through the former players, while providing income to the players after their retirement.
