Barça's rout rounded off a weekend full of activities for the supporters club movement

On Saturday, 23 April, the Nou Espai Social hosted a reception for the 65 members of the Peña Cultural y Recreativa Barcelonista “Diego Luna” organised by the Social Commission Director, Oscar Ferreón and the president of the supporters club, Diego Luna.

The second reception was held at the Sala OAP (Supporters Services Office) in the Social Area, where Mr. Ferreón welcomed the President of the Peña Barcelonista Pedrito, Antonio Pascual, and a group of supporters who travelled to Camp Nou and which served as a warm-up before the game.

The stadium's facade was also a point of focus throughout the day. The Peña Barcelonista Ciudad de la Cuchillería and the Peña Barcelonista de Costa Rica unveiled their coats of arms at door 59 (South Ramp). Their respective presidents, Miquel Caps and Jaime G. Vargas, pulled back the curtain in conjunction with Supporters Clubs Commission director Xavier Ilincheta.

Wrapping up the day's events, the Peña Palentina FC Barcelona presented the poster for the XV Meeting of FC Barcelona Supporters Clubs of Castilla and León. Mr. Ferreón did the honours along with the President of the Castilla y León Supporters Club Federation, Nicolás Pérez and Ricardo Pascual, president of the club organizing the Meeting.

Members and supporters enjoyed a day of football in which not just roses and books were the focus of attention, but also the goals. Luis Suárez scored four times against Sporting, while Messi and Neymar also chipped in with a goal each, leading Barça to a 6-0 victory that brings them closer to the La Liga title.

Sant Jordi throughout the territory

Along with activities at the stadium, many other supporters clubs celebrated Sant Jordi by organising their own events, among them the Penya Blaugrana Almogàvers Empordà, the Penya Barcelonista Sants-Hostafrancs 2009, the Penya Barcelonista “La Guineu”, la Penya Blaugrana Les Corts, la Penya Barcelonista Casal Català de Caracas, la Penya Barcelonista Sant Martí Sarroca, la Penya Barcelonista de Mollet o la Penya Sant Andreu de la Barca.
