Satoransky, grateful for time at FC Barcelona: “I felt privileged”

The Czech guard, who is off to the Washington Wizards, discusses his time at Barça and leaves the door open to a possible return: “I know I still owe something to the culés!”

After officially signing for the Washington Wizards in the NBA, Tomas Satoransky has published a letter on social networks in which he thanks everyone at FC Barcelona for being so supportive of him in his time at the club. Here is the complete letter:

“Hello everyone. Today my transfer to the Washington Wizards has been made official. I am really happy and excited with this new challenge ahead of me in my sports career.

I have been away from my country for a long time and I have grown as a player since coming to Spain. I owe a lot to these people who put their faith in me, first in Sevilla and then at Barça, where I have spent my last two seasons.

From here, I would like to thank everyone who has helped me to grow and become who I am. Thanks to all the directors, coaches and colleagues that I have worked with in my years in the Liga ACB and all the employees of the clubs where I have been.

I obviously want to say some words for my last club, FC Barcelona. Thanks to them I have had the chance to play at the highest level, and fight for titles! Thank you to Barça and all its people, and especially to the supporters groups in the Palau and most of all Los Dracs, a group that have always made me realise what a privilege it is to wear this shirt!

I want to try a new experience in the NBA, I want to make my dreams come true, but I know that I still owe something to you culés! One day I want to win a trophy with you guys!

Thanks from the heart to you all!!!

See you soon!

Tomas Satoransky”
