The Spain national manager was named Coach of the Year by FIFA ahead of Josep Guardiola and José Mourinho

Vicente del Bosque won the 2012 Coach of the Year award this afternoon in Zurich. Del Bosque, who led Spain to the 2010 World Cup trophy and the 2012 European Championship trophy, called upon the attendees of the Gala to “take care of football so we can be examples of ethical and professional behaviour.”

The FIFA Ballon d’Or Gala was also attended by ex-FC Barcelona manager, Josep Guardiola, who was in the running for the 2012 Coach of the Year along with Real Madrid manager José Mourinho. At the Gala, the Catalan said that “watching Barça play is a spectacle.” It’s also worth noting Guardiola was won the Coach of the Year award last year, and he dedicated it to current Barça boss, Tito Vilanova, who had just underwent surgery.
