FC Barcelona named best club in the world for fourth time

FCB is once again the runaway leader in the classification published by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Barça are top for the second year in a row

FC Barcelona has topped the world ranking published by theInternational Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) for the fourth time. The club thus holds onto the top sport achieved in 2011, and which the club also led in 1997 and 2009.

Barça is the only team to have more than 300 points (307 to be precise), placing it ahead of European champions Chelsea (279), who are followed by Boca Juniors and Atlético Madrid on 278 points each. Corinthians of Sao Paulo, winners of the Copa Libertadores and FIFA Clubs World Cup, are fifth, making them the second highest ranks non European club.

FC Barcelona have thus won the honour for the fourth time, while the only other clubs to have topped the ranking more than once are Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Sevilla.
