FC Barcelona’s beach football team will play against AC Milan on January 26 (19.00, local time; 17.00, Catalan time), in a friendly match in Doha, Qatar. The match comes just before the final phase of the Asian qualifiers for the FIFA 2013 World Cup, which will be hosted in Tahiti.
Curiously, the two teams played against each other in the quarter finals of the Champions League.
Quarter finalist in the most recent Club World Cup
It’s worth noting that FC Barcelona reached the quarter finals of the most recent Club World Cup in Sao Paulo a couple of months ago. In Qatar, just like in Brazil, Barça will be led by Amarelle, Nico Alvarado, Juanma Martín, Egor Eremeev and Dmtriy Shisha.
Amarelle: “It’s a great opportunity”
The manager and captain of the team, Amarelle, said: “it’s a great opportunity to play against such a competitive side, we’ll see where we stack up. AC Milan are a team that fight for the win and they are quality, they have great players like Dejan Stankovic and Stephan Meier, and the highest goalscorer in Italy, Paolo Palmacci.”
