Atlético Femenino 2-0 Barça Women: Beaten by effectiveness

It wasn't to be. Barça Women lost 2-0 in the semifinals of the Copa del la Reina against Atlético Femenino at the Ciudad Deportiva Wanda. Effectiveness in front of goal from the hosts was decisive. 

The visitors began the match full of intent and went looking for the first goal immediately. Marta Torrejón had a great chance from a corner in just the third minute, however, Atléti responded with three dangerous plays of their own and only solid defensive work and Sandra Paños' excellence in goal kept the scores level.

The locals score first

With both sides cancelling each other out in the first half, it appeared that they would go into the break goalless, however, Ludmila took advantage of a cross from the left wing to give her side the lead on 43.

The second half progressed in much the same way as the first, and once again Ludmila was decisive, finishing a move from inside the area (2-0, min 62). Barça responded quickly with a cross shot from Vicky Losada, and in the last few minutes Oshoala and Martens went close, but with their luck out on the day, the Blaugranes were eliminated by last season's beaten finalists.
