Peralada 2-0 Barça B: Beaten by the wind

The Catalans couldn't get a positive result in a very difficult match due to the weather

Barça B were defeated by Peralada (2-0) in a match where the wind played havoc with any attempt at something resembling skilful football. Garcia Pimenta's side were greatly affected as it deprived them of possession and being able to play their usual passing game.

Wind is the protagonist in Peralada

Before a ball had been kicked, there was uncertainty due to a possible suspension because of the wind. Finally, the referee decided that the game be played, despite 70 km/h gales. Barça B had the wind in favour to begin with, but were unable to get going as a unit.

Riqui Puig and Carles Pérez were barely involved and tactics couldn't come into play as the ball was in the air far more frequently than on the ground. The Catalans tried to play a possession game but were unable to gain any sort of control, their best chances coming from long-distance shots.

Cuenca replaced Puig to give the midfield more muscle but, eight minutes from the end, Iago Lopez picked up a rebound and scored the first goal with a great shot (1-0, minute 81). The clock worked against the visitors who also conceded a late penalty (2-0, 93 minute). With this defeat, Barça B have gone three consecutive games without winning, however, they are still within three points of the play-off positions.
