Copa de España champions! Barça have retained the title after a hotly contested final, particularly during the first half. The blaugranes started slowly, but grew into the game before a 0-5 partial score set the lead that remained to the end. Luis Frade and Hallgrimsson were most in form for the winners.

Both sides score well

The game began with both sides looking to make their mark. Barça attempted to implement their game, but Recoletas were good in defensive transitions, forcing the blaugranes into making mistakes. The score was 6-6 after ten minutes, but the visitors then set the pace of the game and tightened up in defence to go into the lead after a +5 (8-13).   

Jorge Serrano was proving to be Recoletas key player, with great recoveries and shooting, but Luis Frade outshone him in the first part with six goals. Hallgrimsson is also worth mention for making some great saves. 12-16 in favour of the blaugranes at half-time.

Blaugranes take second half and become champions!  

Barça came out for the second half with a mind to control their lead. All the same, Recoletas were passing well and making it difficult. A turning point came when Gedo got a two-minute penalty and Barça scored to extend the lead to +7 (15-22), meaning the trophy was closer.

The game was even from them on, with the decent lead maintained partly by Hallgrimsson, who added to his performance in the first half. Ultimately, Barça saw out the game to claim victory and their third Copa de España trophy.
