The FC Barcelona handball side defeated Granollers 35-28 in a thrilling clash at the Palau d’Esports. The blaugranes controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing a dynamic attack and a solid defence that allowed them to break their opponents unbeaten run this season.

Thrilling encounter

Carlos Ortega’s men came out focused, imposing their attacking game with a stellar performance from Dika Mem, who scored six goals, and a solid defence led by goalkeeper Emil Nielsen.

N’Guessan, Frade, and Mem quickly put the blaugranes three goals up, but Granollers responded through Adrià Figueras and Urdangarín. As the first half progressed, the home team increased their defensive intensity and tried the counterattack to surprise Barça’s defence, but Nielsen proved unbeatable, making several impressive saves. The visitors maintained their lead at 19-15 at half time.

Barça dominance

After the break, Barça came out determined to consolidate their lead and control the game. They extended their advantage, while Nielsen remained in fine form with key saves that frustrated any attempt at a Granollers comeback. Carlos Ortega’s team combined intense defence with quick transitions, preventing the home side from closing the gap to less than five goals.

The final minutes saw Barça take their biggest lead of the game, clearly sealing victory for Barça. The win leaves the team in confident mood heading into Wednesday’s European clash against HC.
