Barça's 28-25 win against Porto in the semi-final of the Iberian Super Cup sealed their place in Sunday's final. Carlos Ortega's team, led by an inspired Viktor Hallgrimsson in goal, defended their lead in the second half with an excellent defensive performance against the Portuguese team.

Great start

The blaugranes got off to a brilliant start and with just six minutes played they led 4-0. Nevertheless, Porto reacted well and cut the lead to 7-5 with quarter of an hour gone. Keeper Viktor Hallgrimsson was in fine form for Barça and his inspired performance gave Carlos Ortega's team the confidence in attack to take a 16-12 lead into the second half.

Resistance to reach the final

Barça controlled the game in the second half despite Porto's laudable attempts at a comeback. With Emil Nielsen now in goal, the Portuguese came up against another brick wall in the blaugrana defence. The win for Carlos Ortega's team gives them a place in Sunday's final and a chance to claim some early season silverware.
