FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with BM Logroño La Rioja for the signing of pivot Javi Rodríguez. The 20 year old has signed a contract tying him to the Club until 2026.
Rodríguez is a pivot capable of defending in the middle and with the ability to find space in attack. In 2022/23 he scored 97 goals in 30 matches for Logroño in the Asobal League.
The pivot also made his debut for the Spanish national side in April of this year and last summer he captained the Junior side to success in the European Championships.
Despite being just 20 years of age, Rodríguez has three years of experience in the Asobal League after a debut season with BM Guadalajara in 2020/21 followed by two seasons with Logroño.
Rodríguez: "I'll do all I can to help the team"
Javi Rodríguez says he is coming to "the best club in the world," as well as being "really happy and looking forward to starting."
"I will give all I can for the team and to win as much as possible. I hope the fans can help us do it," he explained to Club media.
