Recently crowned league champions FC Barcelona picked up another win in the ASOBAL Plenitude league in a festival atmosphere in the Palau with a dominant display in the 45-34 win over TM Benidorm.
Party atmosphere before the start
Smiles all round before the start of the contest as the fans in the Palau welcomed the team home for the first time since the league title was clinched in midweek. Coach Carlos Ortega wanted his side to remain focussed despite the distractions and that they did in the first half with Dika Mem in particular outstanding. At half time the blaugranes led by 26-15 with even keeper Nielsen getting on the scoresheet.
24th win in the bag
In the second half the story remained the same and the lead stretched to 14 at one point. When the tempo dropped, Ortega called a time out to refocus his side and the blaugranes responded by increasing the lead to double figures once again. In the end a 45-34 win meant victory number 24 for Barça in the league this season.
