Bidasoa Irun 26-32 FC Barcelona: Impeccable as ever

Barça amassed an early lead in Sunday's fixture which allowed them to rotate the bench in the latter stages of this final game before the international break.

After storming into a 9-1 lead after the first quarter of an hour, there was never much doubt that Barça were going to maintain their one hundred per cent record in the domestic championship, with Luis Frade outstanding with his six goals.

There's little doubt that Barça took their feet off the pedals in the second half, and in fact their Basques hosts won that period 16-14, although there was never any real threat of a comeback.

There will be more league action until March 25 because once the players are back from national duty, attention will be focused on the Copa ASOBAL, which this year is being hosted by Leon. Barça's semi-final opponents will be the surprise package of the Spanish season, REBI Balonmano Cuenca.
