After the disappointment of defeat in the Super Globe final, the Barça handball team got back to winning ways with a convincing 39-33 win against Aalborg in the Champions League.
The victory allows Carlos Ortega's team to top group B in the competition with Aleix Gómez top scoring with 11 goals in a tricky encounter in Denmark.
In the opening stages of the encounter both team exchanged goals with alarming regularity. A Barça side looking to shake off the cobwebs after returning from the Super Globe tournament in Saudi Arabia managed to keep pace with the Danes and at half time the scoreboard read 19-19.
Into the second half and Aalborg rallied to move into the lead before Barça hit back with keeper Gonzalo making a series of vital saves.
The blaugranes edged in front at 25-24 before extending their lead as they moved up a gear. With five minutes left they led 36-29 before closing out the win at 39-33 for a fifth consecutive win in the competition.
