Xavi Pascual's team give themselves a four goal advantage in the Champions League tie
Important win ahead of the second leg of the EHF Champions League as Xavi Pascual's team took a 33-29 win over Meshkov Brest in a tight encounter in Belarus. The game started well with the blaugranes with Palmarsson and Makuc impressing as Barça took an early 8-4 lead.
Xavi Pascual's team managed to gain a six goal lead at one point but the home side fought back to make it 17-16 in Barça's favour at half time.
In the second half the game remained a close affair with Barça managing to squeeze ahead at certain moments by two or three goals. However, with just a few minutes remaining the game was tied at 26-26. The blaugranes took control in the final minutes and Dika Mem, scorer of 10 goals in the game, added his final strike to make the final score 33-29 to Barça with the second leg to come at the Palau Blaugrana on Thursday 20 May.
