Illes Balears Palma Futsal 4-2 Barça: No reward in Mallorca

The blaugranes start their semi-final play off with defeat in the Balearics despite a strong performance

The Barça futsal team began their league play off semi-final with a defeat in Son Moix, going down to a 4-2 reverse against Palma Futsal in the first game of their tie. Tino Pérez's side put in a good performance in Mallorca but luck was not on their side as the blaugranes now move on to game two at the Palau Blaugrana.

Early setback

Barça were up against it from early on. In just the second minute of the game Bruno Gomes scored for Palma with the first real chance of the encounter. The blaugranes remained calm and Martel came close to coming up with the equaliser. On 16 minutes Barça were level when Neguinho put the ball past his own keeper Barrón.

Nevertheless, before half time Palma were back in front from the penalty spot and at the start of the second half Rivillos extended their lead to 3-1. Barça struck back with a goal from Adolfo on 26 minutes to make it 3-2. Tino Pérez's valiantly searched for the equaliser and having sacrificed their goalkeeper, they threw everything at Palma. However, a late goal from Fabinho decided the game in favour of the home side and now the two teams move on to the Palau Blaugrana next Tuesday at 8.30pm CEST for game two.
