End of the nine game winning run. Barça needed a morale-boosting win after going out of the Spanish Cup but it wasn't to be. El Pozo Murcia won 2-3 after a hectic first half and Barça not making their dominance count in the second. The Palau crowd of 3,522 enjoyed goals by Lozano and Marcenio, but the home side ultimately came up short.
Hectic first half
After a very even start, the game became a bit of a basketball game. El Pozo regained possession for Valerio to score (0-1, min.4), before a counterattack by Andre Coelho, finished by Lozano, levelled the game (1-1,min .7)
Soon after, a training ground indirect free kick routine by the home side bounced off Marcenio and the visitors ran away to score through Feixas (1-2, min. 11). However, Barça's number 18 quickly scored an equaliser to amend for the error (2-2, min.11). The game seemed to settle down, but Darío finished a counter attack to make it 2-3 at halftime.
Barça dominate without scoring
The goals and mistakes of the first half gave way to Barça imposing their playing style in the second, but the goal wouldn't come. Numerous chances were created, but former Barça man Juanjo was in good form in the Pozo goal, including saving a double penalty. Final score 2-3.
Next up, a knockout game against Jaen (8.30pm CET) to decide the Copa del Rey Final Four.
