Barça won a very competitive game 5-4 against Industrias Santa Coloma to become Catalonian Cup champions for the eleventh time. Captain Sergio Lozano lifted the trophy with his teammates at the Martorell Municipal sports centre.
The game had two different phases with Barça dominating the first half, whereas the second was more even. Matheus didn't appear for the second half due to injury, while Dídac and Ferrao remain on the road to recovery.
Fast start from Barça
Jesús Velasco's men were fast out of the blocks and Adolfo received a good pass from Dyego, dribbled past the keeper, and made it 0-1 in the 1st minute. This effective start set the tone for the game.
Six minutes later, captain Sergio Lozano recovered the ball well, counterattacking to gift the second goal to Pito in the seventh minute. The game continued in the same vein, Catela scoring the third goal after an Adolfo assist after 13 minutes. The only downside of the first half was an own goal by Pito, half-time score 1-3.
Barça wrap up the win
Industrias came out with a lot more intensity after the break, but Barça were able to withstand it fairly well. After several saves by Feixas and two posts, Corso cut the deficit from the penalty spot after 28 minutes (2-3). Both sides were now showing strongly, which made for a great game. Industrias also used Povill as a fly keeper with three minutes to go.
The remaining goals came in the 40th minute, Coelho made it 2-4, Povill scored on the next play to cut the gap to 3-4, a second goal by Pito restored the 2 goal advantage, before Povill scored another to make it 4-5 right at the end of the game - two goals for each side in the final minute.
So, Barça were crowned Catalonian Cup champions for the eleventh time, watched by a passionate crowd in Martorell.
