Barça were unable to halt Movistar Inter’s excellent run of form and have lost 3-2 in Thursday’s encounter. It was a cruel end to a game in which the Catalans had done brilliantly to come back from 2-0 down, but the home side were awarded a penalty with just 23 seconds to go and ended up inflicting just the third defeat of the season on Barça.
With youngster Daniel Fernández making his first team debut, Barça were stung twice early on when Carioca scored after six minutes and Pol Pacheco added another on the quarter hour.
Víctor Pérez quickly pulled one back for Barça, and in the second half Ortiz drew level and the flow of the game was very in the visitors’ hands at this stage and there were plenty of chances to snatch the win.
That made it all the more painful when Movistar Inter ended up winning it right at the very end.
