Winning away at your biggest rivals 2-6 is not something that happens every day. The Women's Champions League quarterfinal first leg result will remain long in the memory for FC Barcelona fans. Pere Romeu's put on a complete performance with their attacking efficiency proving key.

Six goals against Real Madrid for the first time

The match on Wednesday represented a new goalscoring record for the blaugranes against their biggest rivals. The six goals scored meant Pere Romeu's side set a new benchmark for goals against Real Madrid. It wasn't the biggest winning margin, though, as they have won 5-0 against them on four different occasions in the past.

The previous 2-6 in the Champions League

You have to go back to 2022 for the last Champions League match Barça won 2-6. It was on 15 December 2022, away to Benfica, the matchday five fixture in the group stage.

What's more, the blaugranes hadn't scored six goals in Europe's premier club competition away from home since 13 December 2023, when they played Rosengård in matchday three (0-6).

Top scorers in Clásicos

When it comes to goals in Clásicos, two names always come to mind – Ewa Pajor and Alexia Putellas. The Pole has stunning numbers against Real Madrid. Her brace on Wednesday took her to 13 goals in just nine games.

When it comes to Alexia, she also has 13 goals, but in 17 games against the all-whites. She always pops up in big games with a goal, as she did to round off the big win in the Champions League Clásico.

Alexia

Youngest starting eleven in the quarterfinals

The match at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium left us a stunning stat. The eleven selected by Pere Romeu was the youngest of all the teams in the quarterfinals, aged 25 years and 174 days old on average. The future is blaugrana.

Serrajordi and Camara debut as starters

It was a memorable game, but especially for Clara Serrajordi and Aïcha Camara. Both players made their fourth appearance against Real Madrid, but their first as starters. What's more, they both played brilliantly.

Goal count of 83 to 12

Barça like playing Real Madrid. The Clásicos give the players an extra edge and the stats against the all-whites are overwhelming. The blaugranes have won 22 of the 23 Clásicos played so far, with 83 goals scored and only 12 conceded.

This represents an average of 3.6 goals scored and 0.5 conceded, as well as keeping a clean sheet in 15 of those matches. And there are two more Clásicos to come.
