Another win to add to the run, as FC Barcelona have defeated Granada 2-0 in this Liga F matchday eight fixture. Clàudia Pina and Kika Nazareth scored the goals in the victory, as the blaugranes wore the special edition Ed Sheeran jersey featuring his Play album logo in collaboration with Spotify.

Tough start

Barça came out looking to control proceedings, but Granada were well set in defence. They even had the first big chance of the game when a Gemma Font pass went astray and the visitors' effort shaved the post. Barça began to move the ball more quickly after 15 minutes, leading to Clàudia Pina and Laia Aleixandri both having efforts saved by the visiting keeper.

Vicky comes into the game

The blaugranes were helped by Kopa Trophy winner Vicky López stepping up, first with a long shot, as her side were finding it hard to break through, and then she had the clearest chance of the first half from a Cámara cross that Laura diverted away from goal.

Goal not forthcoming

There were 4,350 inside the Estadi Johan Cruyff waiting for the opener and it wasn't coming easily. Midfielder Laia Aleixandri headed wide from a corner, before both Brugts and Sydney were unsuccessful with their attempts. Halftime 0-0.

Clàudia Pina decisive

The number nine again came out firing after the break and her shot was diverted when it looked like it was going into the top corner, but the Liga F top scorer eventually broke the deadlock after 52 minutes after a superb cross from Vicky.

Changes to shake things up

Alexia Putellas and Ona Batlle came on for Sydney and Brugts after 62 minutes and the fullback quickly tested the visiting keeper with a cross that turned into a shot. Aitana Bonmatí and María León then came on for Cámara and Clara Serrajordi, before Salma Paralluelo replaced MVP Clàudia Pina. A second goal was needed, especially as Granada could have equalised after 80 minutes when Laupstad broke away to feed Keefe, whose shot was blocked by María León.

Kika Nazareth seals victory

Now in the 87th minute, Kika Nazareth made the most of a misunderstanding in the robust Granada defence, cutting back before unleashing a near post shot to score. Mapi León then hit the post with a cross before Aitana Bonmatí had a left foot shot, but the game ended 2-0.

That makes it eight wins in the first eight Liga F games to further consolidates top spot in the league.
