UWCL PREVIEW | Chelsea v FC Barcelona

A fifth consecutive final beckons, with a three goal lead going into the second leg

Barça visit Chelsea this Sunday at 3pm CESTfor the second leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-finals.

The Catalans hold a three-goal advantage after winning 4–1 in the first leg, and are aiming to finish the job at Stamford Bridge and secure their place in the final.

Chelsea

Despite the outcome of the first match, Sonia Bompastor’s Chelsea are one of the best teams in Europe and know what it takes to overturn a tie. In the quarter-finals, they came back from a 2–0 deficit to defeat Manchester City 3–0, and players like Mayra Ramírez, Cuthbert, Macario, Reiten, Beever-Jones, Baltimore and Rytting, among others, are capable of shining at any moment.

So much as Barça are very much in the driving seat at the moment, the job is very much only half-done, and this time it's the Londoners who have the home advantage.

Barça

Barça return to Stamford Bridge for the third year in a row and are hoping to achieve the same outcome as on previous occasions, with Barça having progressed to the final both times.

Pere Romeu’s side are travelling to London determined to secure another victory and qualify for their fifth consecutive final — a historic milestone for both the club and the competition.

The Barça coach will have the same squad available as in the match played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
