Legendary: Fourth UWCL Final in five years!

Legendary: Fourth UWCL Final in five years!

FC Barcelona make history by reaching three consecutive finals

After drawing 1-1 with Chelsea in front of an amazing atmosphere at Spotify Camp Nou, and thus winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate, the Barça women's football team are through to the Champions League Final on June 3 in Eindhoven. This is the fourth time in five years and the third in a row that the Catalans have made it through to the final, taking what was already a legendary team to the next level.

Their first final, Budapest 2019, ended in heavy defeat to Olympique Lyon, but the blaugrana were back two years later to win their first European crown in Gothenburg, beating Chelsea 4-0, the same side they also defeated today. Last season they were denied a second title in a row when they again lost to Olympique Lyon this time in Turin.

They now have another shot at the trophy in the Netherlands when they will be facing the winners of the other semi-final between Arsenal and Wolfsburg, which won't be sorted out until Monday.

Barça have joined what are now a select group of just three teams that have appeared in four different finals since the tournament adopted its new format and name in 2009, the others being Olympique Lyon and Wolfsburg.

Sandra Paños, María León, Marta Torrejón, Mariona Caldentey, Alexia Putellas, Patri Guijarro, Aitana Bonmatí, Asisat Oshoala and Gemma Font have played in all three to date.
