Relive the day FC Barcelona clinched the Liga title in Granada

Thanks to a 3-0 win at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, with all three goals scored by Luis Suárez, the Catalans added a 24th championship trophy to their collection

Five months have gone by since FC Barcelona clinched the 2015/16 Liga title on May 14. And they did it with a win at the Nuevo Los Cármenes, home of Granada, the side that they’ll be welcoming to the Camp Nou this coming Saturday at 8.45pm CET. And it’s no ordinary match – it’s the 1,500th competitive fixture that Barça will have played in the stadium.

That 3-0 win in May came courtesy of a Luis Suárez hat-trick, goals that took his overall tally to 40, making him not only the top goalscorer in Spain, but in all of Europe!

The Uruguayan set things in motion with a fine conversion of a Jordi Alba assist, while it was Dani Alves who laid up the second. And the day was rounded off in fine fashion when Suárez got on the end of a killer pass from Neymar Jr to make triply sure that the trophy would be headed for Barcelona.

Even though Barça ended the season with 91 points, the club’s 24th title wasn’t clinched until the very last day, which goes to show what a competitive tournament it was. It was yet another day for culés the world over to celebrate, and this video gives you the chance to relive some of those wonderful memories.
