Messi and Suárez back in FC Barcelona squad for Glasgow

The Argentinian is over his illness while the Uruguayan also returns after missing Saturday's game with Málaga through suspension. Marlon of the reserves also makes the trip to Scotland

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has announced the names of the twenty players that are flying to Scotland for the Champions League game against Celtic on Wednesday at 8.45pm CET, and they are as follows Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Masip, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis, Arda Turan, Luis Suárez, Messi, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes, Aleix Vidal and Marlon (33).

Leo Messi, who was missing for the 0-0 draw with Málaga on Saturday after going down with a virus, is back in the team. So is Luis Suárez, who was suspended against the Andalusians.

But none of the injured trio of Andrés Iniesta, Samuel Umtiti and Jérémy Mathieu are ready in time and will be remaining in Barcelona to continue their treatment programmes. Marlon of Barça B has also been included in the party of 20 – which will need to be reduced to 18 names for inclusion in the definitive match squad.

Once the game with Celtic is over, work will continue in earnest in the Barça camp, with two more road trips just around the corner, the first to San Sebastian to face Real Sociedad in the league, and then to Alicante for the Copa del Rey first leg against Hercules.

Barça and Celtic faced off at Camp Nou in Champions League Matchday 1 back on 13 September, when Barça beat their Scottish guests, 7–0. (HighlightsMatch Report)
