FC Barcelona are facing a demanding start to 2018 with January a key month for the future of the Blaugrana in both the League and the Copa del Rey. Ernesto Valverde's men have six games confirmed, but if they qualify for the later rounds of the Cup, this could rise to a maximum of nine.
Celta Vigo at Balaídos will be the first test for Barça on January 4 (7.00pm CET), in the first leg of the Copa del Rey, Round of 16. Three days later, the Blaugrana will host Levante at the Camp Nou in the League (4.15pm CET).
The return against Celta will take place at the Camp Nou on Thursday 11 (9.30pm CET), before the League match at Anoeta, on Sunday, January 14 (8.45pm CET). If Barça have eliminated Celta, they will play the first leg of the Cup quarterfinals during the following week, but if not, they will only have a League match at Betis on Sunday 21 at 8.45pm CET.
The last game in January will be at the Camp Nou against Alavés on Sunday, January 28 (8.45pm CET). A match that could precede this is the first leg of the semifinals of the Copa del Rey, in the event that Barça make it that far in the tournament.
