Lamine Yamal was announced this Friday as La Liga's MVP for November, coming on the back of a period in which the starlet has scored three goals, given two assists, and generally excelled in every game he's played.
Things got off to the perfect start with his ninth minute goal against Elche, and he hasn't looked back since, producing golden performance after golden performance as he helped the team on its journey back to the top of the league table.
Key role
He also found the net against Celta and Alavés. The latter was the first time he had scored at Spotify Camp Nou. But he had already given two assists in the new-look stadium against Athletic Club and provided another against Alavés. Stats like that and displays like that made him the natural choice for the monthly award.
Lamine Yamal is competing against some veritable giants of the world game, including Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), Antoine Griezmann (Atlético de Madrid), Mikel Oyarzabal (Real Sociedad) and Gerard Moreno (Villarreal). But once again the Barça striker is defying his age and collecting recognition after recognition in one of the toughest competitions in the sporting world.
